Four women butchered over domestic issue

SHEIKHUPURA   – A man slaughtered four women of his family including his mother, sister, wife and sister-in-law over domestic dispute in Shah Kot police limits on Saturday.

The incident occurred in the Bismillah Colony area of Shahkot Police Station. According to the police, the accused, Shakil, killed the women with a sharp-edged weapon in Bismillah Colony and fled.

Accused Shakeel cut the throats of his mother, wife, sister and sister-in-law with a sharp-edged instrument and fled away.

Among the women killed were Kaniz Fatima, Shabana Bibi, Zaneera Bibi and Faiza Akram.

Accused Shakeel is a former FC employee while he is currently working in a private factory.

The motive of the murder is yet to be ascertained as the police reached the spot and started further investigation.

Shahkot is a town and one of three tehsils in the Nankana Sahib District of Punjab.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken notice of murder of four women in the area Shahkot and sought a report from Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sheikhupura. The Chief Minister directed the immediate arrest of the accused and said that such elements did not deserve any relaxation. Usman Buzdar further directed to constitute special teams for the arrest of the accused and ensure justice to the affected families. The IG Punjab also took notice of killing of four women in Sheikhupura including Shah Kot and Nankana Sahib. He said that strict action would be taken against the culprits.
