Ali, son of Shumaila Wajid, also mentioned that none of his family members had CNIC due to which he was not able to register himself at any NRC’s. He mentioned that he took his mother to NADRA center twice. First, they asked for her parents’ and husband’s death certificate and when they got the death certificates from UC, NADRA representatives humiliated her mother stating, “Ab kia zarurat hay shinakti card ki, is se pehlay so rahi then” (Why do you need a card now? Were you asleep previously?)

He requested them, but  they changed the token number and asked him to take his mother home, mentioning they would not facilitate her. He is earning quite less by working at a nearby factory. Although he has completed matriculation and a few computer courses, but he requires CNIC for working as a data entry operator to earn better. He requested us to facilitate his mother so him and his sisters could get registered once his mother received her CNIC. His mother thanked us  once she got her NIC token. It is observed that most of the people in our neighborhood believe that CNIC is not for poor specially and not even needed by women.
