Dr Amir seeks suo moto action over murder of teenage girls

KARACHI: People belonging to different sections of the society including those falling prey to the cruelties of the society are especially being invited in the ‘Ramazan City’ set up in connection with the direct transmission of Geo TV, ‘Pehchan Ramazan’.

The objective of the programme is to inform the viewers with regard to the dark side of the society and also draw attention of the concerned officials for justice and fair play. On the fourth day of the ‘Pehchan Ramazan’ transmission those victim families were invited whose teenage girls were killed after rape.

Talking to internationally acclaimed broadcaster and noted research scholar Dr Amir Liaqat Hussain, the affected families informed that the girls went out of their residences for playing or to buy something but their tortured bodies were found.

While narrating their story, tears rolled out from the eyes of the affected families and the host shared their grief and offered full cooperation. The affected families, during the programme, asked for justice. Dr Amir Liaqat appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to proceed with suo moto action and award exemplary punishment to the culprits so that no one could repeat such heinous crime in future.

The process of participation in the programme in large number by the people and award of prizes continued on the fourth day. Over 30 viewers responded correctly to Islamic questions directly or through telephone winning valuable prizes.
