Brother throws acid on sister

MULTAN: A woman was seriously injured when her brother allegedly threw acid on her face here on Thursday, police said.

Razia, resident of 17-Kassi, had been living in Darul Aman for the last two months due to strained relations with her husband and had filed a suit against him. On Thursday morning, she reached the district courts to attend the hearing of her case when her brother Waqas stopped her outside the court and asked her to reach a compromise with her husband.

Razia, however, refused, which led to an exchange of arguments and the infuriated brother threw acid on her face. Razia was rushed to Nishtar Hospital, where she is under treatment. The accused has been arrested by the Chelyak Police.
