Bids to blow up school, videogames market foiled

MINGORA: The bomb disposal squad defused an 18-kilogram bomb planted to blow up a middle school for girls in Qambar while a bid to blow up a videogames market was also foiled after a five-kilogram bomb was defused on Friday.

Police were informed about the presence of a suspicious bucket in the school when some students saw wires attached to it. The bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and defused the explosive.

The bomb weighing around 18 kilograms could have destroyed the entire building. Administrations of local girls schools are receiving threats to force the students to wear veil, otherwise the institutions will be blown up.

In the same area in the jurisdiction of the Rahimabad police station, police personnel defused a five-kilogram bomb that was planted to blow up a videogames market.
