Balochistan to have women police: PPO
QUETTA, Feb 9: The Provincial Police Officer of Balochistan, Tariq Masood Khosa, has said that Balochistan would soon have a women’s wing in the police force and the chief minister has approved the project for inducting women in police.
Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, he said that in the first phase 50 women police would be recruited.
“Out of 50 women, 40 would be recruited for the district police and 10 for the Special Branch duty,” he said, adding that the women would be inducted as assistant sub-inspectors (ASI).
He said the PC-1 of the proposed project for establishing facilities for a model police force for Gwadar was sent to Islamabad for approval. He said that Gwadar would be the hub of massive trade, business and economic activities in the next few years so it needs a model police force to meet the future challenges, including protection of local and foreign investors, tourists and other people who would come to Gwadar.
