ADB to extend $4.57 million technical assistance for women uplift

LAHORE, July 26 2005: Asian Development Bank (ADB) would help the government of Pakistan to implement gender-related reforms to improve the status of women in the country, through a technical assistance (TA) grant package amounting to 4.57 million dollars.

According to sources here on July 24, the TA was partly financed by 100,000 dollars from ADB’s TA funding programme and 800,000 dollars from ADB’s Poverty Reduction Co-operation Fund, from the government of the United Kingdom. The government of Canada, through the Canadian International Development Agency, would co-finance $3,665,000 of the cost.
