PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani has said all legal assistance would be provided to the gang-rape victim and punishment ensured to the rapists at all costs.

He said this during a meeting with the gang-rape victim student and her family at Mansehra, said an official communiqué. The police chief assured the family the police would provide them every possible cooperation in pleading their case and awarding an exemplary punishment to the culprits. The IGP told the family the police were ready to engage lawyers to extend legal help to them.

Appreciating the IGP’s concern and sympathy, the victim and her family expressed gratitude to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and expressed satisfaction at the working of Mansehra police in connection with the case.
