Digital Learning Initiative Aims to Enrol 10,000 Additional Students in Underserved Communities

Islamabad, 28-Jan-2026 (PPI): A digital education programme targeting underserved communities is set to expand its reach by an additional 10,000 students this year, following the renewal of a strategic partnership between Zong and Knowledge Platform. The collaboration, now entering its fourth year, aims to bridge the educational divide using technology-enabled learning for secondary school pupils.

The Zong Digital Scholars Programme focuses on digitising the learning experience for Grades 9 and 10. It has introduced interactive digital classrooms, gamified educational content, and structured online learning to transform conventional teaching models. The initiative also utilises AI-powered analytics to provide personalised instruction and real-time performance insights for students and educators.

By the end of 2025, the programme had successfully enrolled 35,000 students in schools and provided 5,000 young women with digital literacy and financial skills training through gamified learning. The initiative, which has surpassed its initial enrolment targets, has also certified 7,500 students and trained 150 teachers in digital instruction and blended learning techniques across 300 schools in 42 cities.

The alliance offers two core learning streams: an online Mathematics Tutoring Programme and a comprehensive English and Science Self-Study Programme. It also includes “Sitarey: Digital Learning Games and Competitions” to enhance engagement.

Andleeb Aslam, an official spokesperson for Zong, stated that the company’s approach to sustainability involves fostering long-term social and economic progress through technology. “The Zong Digital Scholars Programme embodies this commitment by strengthening education through digital tools and future-ready skills for students and educators,” Aslam said. “Through strategic partnerships, we strive to create scalable, lasting impact and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s development journey.”

The continuation of the partnership was formalised at a signing ceremony at Zong’s headquarters, underscoring the company’s focus on strengthening learning ecosystems and empowering individuals with tools that support progress beyond the classroom.
