Authorities Ordered to Curb Artificial Price Hikes Ahead of Ramazan

Islamabad, 28-Jan-2026 (PPI): Federal and provincial authorities have been instructed to maintain close surveillance to avert any artificial escalation in costs or the exploitation of consumers by profiteers during the forthcoming month of Ramazan.

The directive was issued by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, while presiding over a high-level meeting in the capital today.

The session was convened specifically to review the nationwide availability and pricing of essential items.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his contentment with the substantial reserves of key necessities currently available throughout the provinces.

It was noted that the current stock levels were ample in view of the approaching holy month.
