A significant new law aimed at preventing and protecting against domestic violence has received final approval from President Asif Ali Zardari, part of a package of seven parliamentary bills that have now completed the full legislative process.

The presidential assent was granted to a diverse set of measures, formally enacting them into law and covering areas from social welfare and education to trade and taxation.

The newly ratified legislation includes The National Tariff Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and The Export Development Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which address matters of national commerce.

Further economic reforms were solidified with the sanctioning of The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

In the social sector, The Daanish Schools Authority Bill, 2026, received the president's sanction, alongside the landmark Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Bill, 2026.

Changes to national infrastructure and human rights frameworks were also finalised with the approval of The Transfer of Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and The National Commission for Human Rights (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
