In a significant move to enhance public safety, the Islamabad Police is set to upgrade its internal communication framework, a strategic initiative aimed at ensuring a more rapid arrival of officers at crime scenes and accident sites throughout the federal capital.

The decision was formalised during a high-level discussion held at Safe City Islamabad, presided over by Director General Safe City and DIG Traffic, Muhammad Haroon Joya.

The session included key stakeholders such as the Director Systems, the Safe City technical team, and officials from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

DG Joya emphasised that effective internal communication serves as the "backbone of any institution," remarking that for any organisation to achieve progress, a continuous focus on improving communication systems is essential.

He confirmed that the project, initiated under the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, will modernise the force's communication network in line with standard requirements. The primary objective is to enable a swifter and more effective police presence at incident and accident locations.

The DG also reminded the public that they can report any emergency to the police by dialling “Pucar-15”, reaffirming that the Islamabad Police remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the citizens of the federal capital.
