8 Killed in 3 Separate Firing Incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

SWAT/CHARSADDA: At least eight people were killed in three separate incidents of firing in Swat, Shabqadar and Charsadda areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.

In the Chaparial area of Matta tehsil, Swat district, a man and a woman were shot dead in the name of honor. The accused, identified as the husband of the woman, was arrested by the police.

In Shabqadar, three people, including a young girl, were killed in a domestic dispute. A person opened fire on his 50-year-old brother, Gul Sher, and his family. The injured woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

In Charsadda, two brothers and a nephew were killed in a dispute over house ownership. The accused, identified as Jehanzeb, had an ongoing dispute with his brothers over the ownership of their house. The deceased were identified as Mir Ali, Nawaz, and Akbar.

The police have registered FIRs in all three cases and are investigating the matter. The DPO of Swat has said that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

These tragic incidents have once again highlighted the need for action to address the issue of violence against women and men in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The government must take steps to ensure that the perpetrators of these crimes are brought to justice and that the victims receive the support they need.

In addition, the government must work to address the root causes of violence, such as poverty, illiteracy, and gender inequality. Only by addressing these issues can we hope to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future.
