LAHORE: A 22-year-old woman was found hanging by fan in the Ghaziabad area on Tuesday. Police investigators said the mum-of-one committed suicide to “get rid of violence by her in-laws”.
Her father Ejaz Ahmed blamed her in-laws for murdering the woman.
“(Mother-in-law) Zeenat and son Malik Shafqat strangulated my daughter and they hanged the body by fan,” he said. The police have moved the body to morgue for autopsy. No arrest has been made so far. According to police, they would take any action after autopsy report.
Separately, a 32-year-old man was found tortured to death in the Hydyara police limits. Police said the body was lying alongside a drain as they reached the spot. The body was moved to the morgue.
A police official said that unidentified men kidnapped the man, tortured him to death, and fled away after throwing his body into the drain. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
Killed: A 14-year-old boy was crushed to death by a rashly-driven car in the Gujjarpura police precincts. Eyewitnesses told the police that the boy, identified as Ghiyas Ullah, was crossing the road when a recklessly-driven vehicle ran over him, killing him on the spot. The driver car fled away. The police are investigating.
