Case against eight for harassing women

 

LAHORE: The police have registered a case against eight people for harassing a family and damaging furniture at a restaurant in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

The suspects also threatened the staff when they intervened to rescue the family.

According to the FIR lodged by Ahmad Khan, a resident of the Lahore Cantt area, he visited the restaurant in DHA, in the jurisdiction of Defence C police, with his family a few days ago. Some boys who were already present there harassed his female family members. When he intervened to stop them, the suspects attacked him, his aunt and sister.

The restaurant’s management came to their rescue, but the suspects returned with an armed group and attacked the hotel staff, causing damage to the property and creating terror. The suspects fled the scene in their cars after the incident.

The body of a woman in her 30s was found

 

TAXILA: The body of a woman in her 30s was found in a deserted place in Dhoke Syed an area in the jurisdiction of Fatehjang police station.

According to police, some people were harvesting wheat in the fields when they spotted the body.

Subsequently, they informed the police who moved the body to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy.

According to medical examination, the woman was suffocated to death and later acid was thrown on her face to conceal her identity.

Moreover, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband in Qualyar village.

Police said the victim’s husband contracted second marriage with her a few years ago and relations between them were troubled.

On Wednesday, both got into an argument and the husband shot her.

Furthermore, a man shot dead his father in Tajik village in the jurisdiction of Hazro police station.

Police, while quoting the family, said the suspect, 22, demanded money from his father, and when he refused, the suspect took out his 30-bore pistol and shot him. Usman succumbed to his injuries later on.

Brother shoots younger sister dead for talking on mobile phone in Nowshera

Nowshera: In a shocking incident, a young girl was allegedly shot dead by her brother for talking on her mobile phone. The incident took place yesterday in the neighboring village of Khushigi Bala, Ahmedabad.

According to the police, the accused, Aamir, became enraged when he saw his 16-year-old sister Maria talking on her mobile phone in front of their parents. He shot her, leaving her seriously injured. She was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries on the way.

The police have registered a case against the accused and handed over Maria’s body to her family after conducting a post-mortem at Qazi Hussain Ahmed Medical Complex.

In another incident in Manki Sharif Miraji Bala, a sister opened fire and seriously injured her only brother. The incident happened when the siblings were joking around, and the brother called the sister ugly. The sister, identified as Nosheen, then fired at her brother, Arsalan.

After the incident, Arsalan was taken to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar in an injured condition. The police have stated that both incidents are clear examples of intolerance and have urged people to resolve their differences without resorting to violence.

The incidents have once again highlighted the need for promoting a culture of peace and tolerance in society. It is important for families to work towards resolving conflicts amicably, without resorting to violence, to avoid tragic incidents like these.
