Minor raped, burnt

Islamabad; A minor girl was kidnapped, raped, and burnt to death in Kohsar Town. Her body was recovered from a water tank from one of the houses in the town, at Old Kirpa Road falling under the jurisdiction of Kirpa Police Station.

The father of the victim, hailing from Mardan, lodged a complaint with the Kirpa Police Station, in which he claimed that his 7-year-old daughter went to a neighbour’s house along with her family including her grandmother, mother, and sister to attend Quran Khwani. The family noticed her missing after a while and started looking out for her with the help of locals.

However, after some time, the family noticed a foul smell coming from the rooftop of their neighbour’s house where they attended the Quran Khwani, where they found a burnt cot. The complainant told the police that his wife also saw the daughter of her neighbour running out of a next-door under-construction house with a stranger. The family rushed to the under-construction house and found the burnt body of their daughter lying in a water tank.

The police shifted the body to the hospital for post-mortem to confirm the offence of rape.

The police have rounded up four suspects including a girl, claiming that the killers would be arrested within hours.

Court extends bail of underage girl’s alleged husband, brother-in-law

karachi: A sessions court has extended until August 26 the interim pre-arrest bail granted to the purported husband and brother-in-law of a teenage girl in a case pertaining to her alleged abduction from Karachi and illegal underage marriage in Punjab.

Zaheer Ahmed faces charges of kidnapping the underage girl from Karachi and contracting the illegal child marriage with her in Lahore. His brother Shabbir, along with their mother and over a dozen other relatives, as well as cleric Hafiz Ghulam Mustafa who solemnised the marriage, and two eyewitnesses have been accused of aiding and abetting the alleged crime. When the matter came up for hearing before the court, the suspects’ lawyer requested the jugde to extend his clients’ bail and fix the next hearing after August 31 for arguments on confirmation or otherwise of their bail.

Jibran Nasir, counsel for the complainant, opposed the defence counsel’s plea, saying they cannot be given such a concession for a long time.

The court, however, extended the interim bail of Ahmed and his brother Shabbir until Aug 26 with a direction to ensure their appearance at the next hearing. On July 21, both were granted interim bail subject to the submission of a surety of Rs100,000 each. The IO had last week filed the final charge sheet in the case. He recommended the court to try the suspects for offences punishable under sections 364-A (kidnapping or abducting a person under the age of fourteen), 363 (kidnapping), 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement, kidnapped or abducted person) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) read with sections 3 and 4 of the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act, 2013 and section 3(ii) of the Prevention of Trafficking in Person Act, 2018.

Three men gang-rape woman

ISLAMABAD: Three men criminally assaulted a woman for more than 12 hours in a house on Kashmir Square in the federal capital.

According to the FIR registered by the Secretariat Police Station, the woman, a resident of G-12, was called by one Abdullah to show her round a house which she intended to rent on Kashmir Road.

The victim said she reached on Kashmir Chowk at 7pm from where one Saad brought her to his house.

She said Saad raped her for for several times after locking her son up in a separate room.

The complainant said Abdullah came at 11 pm and snatched her gold chain before sexually assaulting her for many times.

The woman said an unknown friend of the two suspects also raped her twice before she was allowed to go home. She said the suspects once again called her to visit their place and threatened to kill her and her son if she told anyone about the incident. The case was registered on August 19.

Woman kidnapped, shot dead

OKARA: A married woman was shot dead after kidnap here on Monday at Khalsa Othwal village, some 20km in north of the city.

As per first information report, complainant Fateh Khan alleged that his daughter Sadaf was taking rest along with her one-year-old daughter on Monday afternoon when armed suspects Shahzad, Ihsaan and their unidentified accomplice entered the house, kidnapped her and took her to a farmhouse. Shahzad and Ihsaan allegedly shot her dead.

Gogera police have registered a case under sections 365, 302 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code.

ROBBERIES: Robbers took away cash, valuables and cell phones in three incidents on Monday night.

As many as 15 robbers entered the house of Ahmad Raza at Adleeky Sohag, held the family hostage and made off with Rs450,000, gold ornaments worth Rs2.5 million, two arms and as many cell phones.

At village 27/GD, some 25 km in north of city, 11 unidentified armed suspects forced their entry into the house of complainant Javid Iqbal Kharl and looted a cash of Rs500,000, jewellery worth Rs600,000 and other household items valuing Rs70,000.

In another incident, four armed suspects entered a breeder farm at village 45/2L and took away two laptops, a cell phone and cash worth Rs735,400.

Police have registered separate cases.
