Young woman strangled by husband, father-in-law

A man killed his teenage wife because she could not conceive for two years. His father reportedly helped in the murder. The incident was reported in the Quaidabad Police Station limits.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Husna. She was strangled to death. The police said that the incident took place in Sherpao Colony. Husna was killed by her husband, Hussain, and father-in-law, Faqeer Khan, because she could not conceive.

The family members of the girl said that Husna and Hussain, a labourer by profession, were married about two years ago. The couple were permanent residents of Swat.

Hussain moved to Karachi to earn his livelihood and settled in Sherpao Colony along with the family.

Residents of the area said that Husna’s in-laws beat her up frequently, and many of them could hear her crying. On Sunday morning, Hussain and his father started beating her again. ‘We will kill her today,’ they shouted. The area people immediately informed the police.

By the time the police appeared, Husna was dead, and Khan had managed to escape. Hussain was fleeing as well, but was caught.

During interrogation, Hussain recorded his statement and said that he was mentally disturbed. A case was registered and raids were conducted for Khan’s arrest.
