SUKKUR: The Khairpur police busted on Wednesday a gang of women engaged in kidnapping children. There were reports that two members of a gang of child-kidnapping women abducted two brothers three-year-old Najeeb Sheikh and four-year-old Mujeeb Sheikh from Shesham Colony Luqman, while they were playing in the street near their house.
The kidnappers, later identified as Umeeda Abbasi and Haseena Mughul, caught a passenger van along with the two children. The driver, cleaner and the passengers got suspicious when the children did not stop crying and contacted police, who rushed to van and detained the women. They admitted during investigation that they had abducted the two children from Shesham Colony Luqman. The police went to the colony and got announced from mosques about the children. People rushed and identified the children.
Police said investigation was underway. The arrested women told police they belonged to a gang of child kidnappers. Police said startling information would be made known after further investigation. Police said Dilnawaz Sheikh uncle of the children registered FIR against the arrested women.
