NWFP Chief Minister, Akram Khan Durrani performed the opening ceremony of the first women university in NWFP on September 1, 2004. The university is being set up in the complex of Frontier College for Women in Peshawar. By establishing female campus of Khyber Medical College and a separate university for women, the MMA has fulfilled one of its electoral promises. Had the women university been established in the Frontier House (Chief Minister’s House) the MMA would have fulfilled a very important electoral promise of converting the Governor Houses, the Chief Minister Houses and other VVIP houses into public institutions and living in small houses like common people of this poor country.
