Women should work hard to excel, says Sharmila

KARACHI: The women would have to work hard to excel in every sphere of activity. This was stated by the Coordinator to Chief Minister on Media, Sharmila Farooqui. She was speaking at a seminar organized here by female workers of a multi-national company, says a statement on Friday. Sharmila said that the present government wants to empower the women. She referred to Benazir Income Support Programme, Waseela-i-Haq Programme, and Behan Benazir Basti, distribution of free land among landless women Haris, crisis and vocational centers.

Sharmila further stated that positive results of these have come to the fore. She said that legislation has been undertaken for the welfare and protection of the women. She said that women would have to put in hard work to excel in every field. She stated that women are also being provided employment opportunities in banks and private sector organizations.
