‘Women playing prominent role in development of Saudi Arabia’

ISLAMABAD: The women are playing conspicuous role in the all round progress and development of Saudi Arabia where women are enjoying freedom to excel and contribute in building of the society. The woman folk have full confidence in the incumbent rulers of Saudi Arabia who are determined to uplift all segments of the society without any discrimination. The women role cannot be ignored for modernizing the country.

These views were expressed by Madam Aljouhara Abdullah A. Alarifi, wife of the ambassador Dr Abdul Aziz Ibrahim Saleh Al-Ghadeer, and first lady of the Saudi House in Islamabad during the reception that she hosted to commemorate National Day of the Kingdom at the ambassador residence in diplomatic enclave.

It turned up the occasion where the spouses of the envoys posted in Islamabad, stalwarts of the twin cities and distinguished personalities discussed the social values of the two countries and their similarities.

Wife of President of Pakistan, Mrs Mahmooda Mamnoon Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion. It was the first diplomatic gathering where Mrs Mahmooda Mamnoon was the guest of honour. She also shared views on the bilateral ties of the two countries.

She spoke high of Saudi King Shah Abdullah bin Adulaziz who has genuine affection with the Muslim people across the world. Mrs Mahmooda Mamnoon, who is leaving for Saudi Arabia to perform Haj, paid rich tribute to the Saudi rulers for enhancing and providing best possible facilities to the visiting guests of Almighty Allah coming to the Kingdom for performing Umrah and Haj. She felicitated Madam Aljouhrah Alarifi on the auspicious occasion.

It was an impressive gathering of the ladies belonging to the diplomatic community where the guests were served with sumptuous traditional Arabic and Pakistani cuisines. The spouses of some federal ministers and ministers of state also attended the reception. The Arabic songs with charming lyrics were played and sang by the young girls where the historic characteristics of the Arab society were highlighted. The guests were impressed by the manner of the host Madam Aljouhrah Abdullah Alarifi who visited personally every guest. The guests enjoyed the evening thoroughly.
