‘Women not inferior to men’

University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Munir said that Pakistani women are in no way inferior to men in terms of talent and ability. He said this while addressing a seminar on ‘Voice of Visionaries’ in UET under the auspices of female student society, Zimal on Friday.

The seminar aimed to provide young students with opportunities to engage with industry experts, allowing them to gain valuable insights for their educational and professional growth.

In his speech, UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Munir highlighted that the growing number of female students at UET, which now stands at 32%, reflects the commendable enthusiasm of parents towards educating their daughters.

Dr Munir also reiterated UET’s commitment to providing essential facilities such as hostels and classrooms for female students, stating that “educated women play a vital role in the development and welfare of society.”

The keynote speaker for the seminar was Saira Iftikhar, a dairy value chain expert and former member of the Punjab Assembly.
