Women legislators group in Sindh suggested

Karachi: Suggestions for forming a women legislators group in the Sindh Assembly have been submitted on the pattern of women parliamentarians group in the National Assembly established by Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza to strive for women’s rights, said Minister for Culture, Sassui Palejo, on Friday.

She said that they would give the good news to the people during the next session of the provincial assembly. Ms Palejo said that the parliament by passing a bill against domestic violence had fulfilled a dream of slain Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson, Benazir Bhutto. This bill when approved by the Senate would help to protect women and children from domestic violence.
