KARACHI – The Government of Sindh with the approval of the competent authority has constituted a “Women & Health Committee” consisting of the following members and terms of reference.
The Minister for Women Development Sindh will be Chief Patron / Chairperson and Secretary Women Development Sindh will be Member / Secretary, while Secretary Health Department Sindh, Director Women Development Sindh, Member Sindh Assembly, three councilors (to be nominated by the Minister), two representative of NGOs and two members of Civil Society will work as Member.
The terms of references are: to establish and develop effective liaison and coordination between Health Department, NGOs and other agencies working in this field, to enhance provision of basic health facilities to women and children in the urban and rural areas of Sindh according to there need, to ensure the out reach of all such facilities to each and every community of Sindh particularly disadvantaged / neglected communities deprived of even basic health facilities, to monitor the quality of existing health facilities and suggest ways and means for coordinate Health Department for improvement in the existing and to find ways and means for further provision of medical facilities and progress reports and finding of community to be shared every month and discuss in monthly meetings.
Women Empowerment body: The Government of Sindh with the approval of the competent authority has constituted a “Women Socio-Economic EmÂpowerment Committee” consisting of the following members and terms of reference.
Minister for Women Development Sindh will be Chief Patron / Chairperson and Secretary Women Development Sindh will be Member / Secretary, while Secretary Finance & Development, Director Women Development Sindh, President First Women Bank, Member Sindh Assembly, three councilors (to be nominated by the Minister) two repÂresentative of NGOs and two members of Civil Society will act as Members.
The terms of reference are: To make linkages between Government Departments Micro Entrepreneurs, First Women Bank and financial institution in arranging micro credit for women, to improve existing facilities already available by the Financial Institutions, to ensure proper distribution of available financial facilities to the needy and desired women, progress reports and finding of the women desired to start their own business to be shared every month and discuss in monthly meetings, and to create awareness in the masses, the media to give awareness about the various facilities available in respect of women empowerment and suggest ways and means how a women can start new business or improve existing business.
