Women entrepreneurs become strong driving force in today’s corporate world

LAHORE: Young and enthusiastic entrepreneur Saniya Waqar Shaffi has said that she is in the business world with a mission to prove that women can also be successful, self-sufficient and like men, can derive confidence and happiness.

Speaking at a function organised by the First Women Bank under a US-AID sponsored project here recently, she strongly pleaded to the common women of the country to come forward, avail the precious opportunities already available and lead the business world.

She said women entrepreneurs had become a strong driving force in today’s corporate world as they were not only able to equalise their duties of both motherhood and entrepreneurship but they also comprised almost half of all businesses that day. She said their primary goal was not mostly monetary reward but more importantly and significantly personal satisfaction and community development rather, adding that many of them were educated and working in groups to pool business ideas and resources together for better results.

She maintained Pakistan was sixth most populous country and male and female ratio was 51 to 49 percent which meant women were 51 percent of the total population, while men were 49 percent.

She said with the increasing percentage of women and new trends, “we find women are working side by side with men in almost all walks of life.”
