Women are no less than anyone in talent, says Bharucha

QUETTA: The Regional Directorate of Ministry of Human Rights Balochistan and various non-governmental organisations conducted a seminar and exhibition showcasing handmade embroidery by the women of the province in connection with the Independence Day of Pakistan.

The chief guest was caretaker Federal Minister for Human Rights and Railways Roshan Khursheed Bharucha, while Balochistan Human Rights Regional Director Jahanara Tabassum, Newtech Deputy Director Mannan Gohar, representatives of NGOs, men and women from different walks of life and students in large numbers participated in the event.

The federal minister took a tour of the stalls and praised the embroidery, paintings and dishes made by the women.

Addressing the occasion, Bharucha said, “Today, looking at the women’s work, I am surprised to see that our women are extremely talented. Our women can do everything in this world.

They are no less talented than anyone. It is important to praise these women because they have come out of their homes to play their part in the development of the country and are fulfilling their duty by walking side by side with men.”

She said, “The exhibition held in connection with the Independence Day is no doubt splendid and provincial Human Rights leader Jahanara Tabassum is working really hard.”

Addressing the concluding ceremony, Tabassum apprised the audience of the reasons and benefits of the event, saying such events will be held in the future also and steps will be taken for the welfare of the women.

At the end, Bharucha distributed certificates among the representatives of NGOs.
