Police Station Gujar Khan have arrested three out of six accused allegedly involved in slitting nose and foot of a woman Dalmi Khatrail, informed sources.

Raids are being carried out to arrest the fleeing accused including Taj Deen, the main culprit and ex-husband of victim woman, they said.

Earlier, police registered a case against the accused involved. The victim woman namely Maryam Bibi was rushed to hospital for medical treatment, they said.

According to statement of Maryam Bibi she recorded with police in hospital, she got divorced from her husband Taj Deen some eight months ago and contracted second marriage with Ghulam Fareed. She added her ex-husband was offended with her second marriage and he along with some goons kidnapped and brought her to Sanghoot in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. The victim stated her second husband came from AJK to take her back but Taj made a phone call on Rescue 15 getting her arrested. “Police demanded marriage documents from Fareed which he could not show and cops handed me over again to Taj,” she said adding that later on Taj Deen along with his sister Bano and brother-in-law Siddique approached her and informed about sickness of her uncle living in Rawat. “Taj and his accomplices brought me to Dalmi Khatrail. When I reached at house of my uncle to enquire about his health, they all tied my hands and legs with ropes and Taj along with other criminals chopped off my nose and foot,” the victim stated.

She said she could only survive the attack by making hue and cry. Maryam Bibi asked police to register case and to arrest culprits. Taking action, police lodged FIR and held three suspects. However, the main culprit is still at large, sources said.
