Ghala Mandi police recovered the body of an unidentified woman from the west side of the Lower Bari Doab Canal on Friday and registered a murder case against unidentified suspects.

The body was shifted to Sahiwal Teaching Hospital for an autopsy. SHO Amir Gujar said the deceased, believed to be in her 40s, has not yet been identified.

After completing legal formalities, police handed over the body to the Edhi Foundation for burial.
