Woman wins free will in Zina case

KARACHI, July 15 2005: The Sindh High Court on July 14 allowed a petitioner, Irshad Bibi, to live with her spouse Nawaz Ali, and restrained police from taking any action against the couple.

The petitioner had sought quashment of a Zina case registered against her spouse on the basis of the complaint of her father, Faiz Mohammad, at a police station in Badin. Faiz Mohammad had accused Nawaz Ali of having kidnapped his daughter, who, he claimed, was married to one, Mohammad Aslam.

Irshad Bibi was brought from Darul Aman and produced before the judge to recorded her statement.
