RAHIM YAR KHAN: A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Liaquatpur tehsil on Monday.
A police official told Express News that Ashiq Hussain barged into the house of I*, a resident of Allah Abad, Bhutto Colony, and allegedly raped her.
After committing the offence, the accused left the victim in an unconscious state and fled the scene.
The police shifted the victim to the hospital for treatment and medical tests.
The police registered a case against the suspect on complaint of the victim and started investigation.Earlier, protests erupted in Chichawatni in Sahiwal District after a minor child was set on fire after being raped.
The child, who was mentally challenged, was first taken to DHQ Chichawatni for initial treatment. She was later referred to the Burns Unit of Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
