LAHORE: A woman was poisoned allegedly by her mother-in-law and two brothers-in-law over a marriage dispute in Bhogilwal locality of Shalimar on Tuesday.
Shalimar police SHO Shahid Ali said Sumaira, 19, was given some poisonous substance in juice allegedly by her mother-in-law Shaheen alias Billo because she was not happy with the year-long love marriage of her son Shahid.
Shaheen and her two other sons Shahbaz alias Mithu and Ramzan alias Bhola used to taunt Sumaira over domestic issues as she was not accepted by her husband’s family. The SHO said Shahid had good relations with his wife.
Police have shifted the body for autopsy and registered a murder case against the three on the complaint of Sumaira’s father.
Police are conducting raids to trace the suspects but they are still at large.
