OKARA: A woman lawyer was allegedly tortured on the premises of the Dipalpur Tehsil Courts allegedly by a male lawyer at the behest of her father who wanted to grab her land.

As per the first information report (FIR), Advocate Nadia Ashraf had an agriculture land dispute with her father Muhammad Ashraf as she had refused to give her land to him (father). On Thursday, when she was going to the court of the judicial magistrate, she was attacked by Advocate Abdur Razzaq who was allegedly armed near the Kutchery Mosque who pushed Nadia on ground and inflicted weapon blows on her body, the report said.

Nadia’s niqab went off and she received injuries to her body.

During the incident, her father kept instigating Advocate Razzaq to teach Nadia a lesson for not giving him her land. Seeing the scene, other lawyers and people gathered at the spot and both the suspects disappeared from the scene.

Later, Nadia received a medico legal certificate from hospital and got registered a case against Advocate Razzaq and her father Ashraf with the Dipalpur City Police Station.
