TAXILA: A woman was shot dead by her in-laws in Kawwan village of Hassanabdal. Police sources said Najma Alam married Sharafat Khan about 15 years ago and had no children due to which relations between the woman and her in-laws remained strained.

On Thursday, her husband along with his brother Shafqat Khan and father Waris Khan killed her after an exchange of heated words. The suspects managed to escape from the crime scene.

The body of the victim was shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital for autopsy.
