FAISALABAD: A woman, who received severe burns in an acid attack, died at Allied Hospital after six days. Uzma Mehraj, a resident of Satiana Road, with her seven-year-old daughter Noor Fatima was going by rickshaw when Ijaz Ahmed threw acid on them near Akbar Chowk and fled.
The injured were shifted to the Allied Hospital. Uzma was married to Mehraj Din Ansari about 10 years ago while Ijaz Ahmed had several times tried to develop illicit relations with her. Ijaz nurtured a grudge against her and he threw acid on her. The Civil Lines police have registered a case against the accused on the statement of the victim. The police have arrested the accused.
