Woman found dead in hotel

RAWALPINDI – Police recovered the dead body of an aged woman from the room of a local hotel in Chota Bazaar, the area of Police Station Cantonment, here on Wednesday.

The deceased identified as Tahira Iqbal, 60, wife of Ghulam Sarwar, hailed from Mohra Chaudhrian, Sohawa, district Jhelum. The dead body was removed to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) for postmortem.

According to Sub Inspector (SI) Shafqat Hussain, who is also investigating the case, police recovered the dead body of the old lady from the room of Tuba Hotel, located on Maulvi Muhammad Hussain Road, Chota Bazaar, on the information of hotel manager. He added that old lady checked inn the hotel on September 30, 2012, however, she was found dead in mysterious circumstances in her room.

Police shifted the dead body to DHQ, where autopsy was in process, he said, adding the further investigation is under way.
