Woman faces acid attack

A man threw acid on a widow after he allegedly failed to convince her to develop a relationship with him in Shikari Mohalla in Ahmedpur East.
BAHAWALPUR: A man threw acid on a widow after he allegedly failed to convince her to develop a relationship with him in Shikari Mohalla in Ahmedpur East.
According to police, Rizwan wooed the woman for quite some time allegedly for an extramarital relationship with him, but all his efforts failed.
On Wednesday her brother snubbed Rizwan for his ‘clandestine’ moves. In reaction, Rizwan attacked the woman with acid and left her seriously burnt. Her face had major burns and she lost her eyes.
She was taken to Ahmedpur East Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. City police arrested the accused.
