LAHORE: A 30-year-old woman ended her life by swallowing poisonous pills over domestic dispute in Sabzazar area, police sources said on Wednesday.
Resident of Dubanpura, Khalida Bibi, took poisonous pills after being abused by her husband over some domestic issue. She was rushed to the Jinnah hospital, where doctors pronounced her as brought dead. Local residents told the police that the relations between the couple were not cordial as her husband, Qadeer, used to torture her over minor issues.
The issueless woman had contracted marriage with the manual worker five year ago. The police are investigating.
Meanwhile, unidentified motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire at Ferozepur Road when a traffic warden signaled them to stop for checking in Naseerabad police limits on Wednesday afternoon.
As a result, two workers of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) sustained serious bullet wounds and were rushed to a local hospital though the traffic police official survived the gun attack. The motorcyclists fled from the scene.
Police said that Tazmeel and Irfan were working on the nearby greenbelt when the gunmen started indiscriminate fire. The police have registered a case against two unidentified gunmen and are investigating with no arrest made yet.
