Wife killer gets death

MITHI: The District and Sessions Judge Tharparkar, Syed Saghar Hussain Zaidi, here on Thursday awarded death sentence to a man for killing his wife.

According to prosecution, Paru Kolhi, resident of Saatar Village near Mithi, went to a village near Judho to bring back his estranged wife Patu in May 2008. However, when she refused to accompany him, he allegedly attacked her with an axe. Later, he declared his her ‘kari’.

After finding the evidence sufficient, the court awarded him death sentence on Thursday. It also ordered him to pay an amount of Rs200,000 as compensation to the relatives of his murdered wife.
