Warrants re-issued in Mazar rape case

Karachi – The Additional District and Sessions Judge East, Sanaullah Ghori, re-issued non-bail able warrants of arrest against four of the witnesses and directed the Investigation Officer (IO) to produce them on the next hearing date, September 25.

Three of the suspects, Khadim Hussain, Raja Arif, and Arif Ansari, all employees of the Mazar-e-Quaid, are presently detained in jail.

Razia Kubra, an 18-year old woman of Lodhran, was gang-raped inside Mazar-e-Quaid allegedly by the employees of the Mausoleum on March 9, 2008, when she came to pay homage to the founder of the nation along with her family members.

Razia was found in a shocked condition outside the Mazar-e-Quaid on March 17. The police registered a case under Section 365/B of the Pakistan Penal Code inserted into the PPC through the Protection Women Act, 2006. The case was registered at the Brigade police station.
