Two women killed in honour-related attacks

TIMERGARAH (Lower Dir): Three people, including two women, were killed here in two separate incidents on Tuesday.

In the first incident, a man, Ameer Hassan, killed his wife outside his residence in Bakandi village on Tuesday. The accused claimed that his wife, Shamim Akhter, was trying to flee from her residence which is why he opened fire on her.

The accused surrendered before the police and claimed that his wife had earlier also fled from her residence and that she had to be brought back from Rawalpindi not long ago. Shamim was Ameer’s second wife.

In the second incident, a man, Rehmat Zaib, allegedly opened fire on his wife, Zeenat, while she was offering prayers in Khadgezai village on Tuesday. After killing her, the accused also killed his brother, Bahadur Zaib, on the pretext that his wife and his brother had illicit relations. He then escaped.

Bahadur was a married man with four children. An FIR has been registered at the Ochh police station.
