Two women killed in honour-related attacks
TIMERGARAH (Lower Dir): Three people, including two women, were killed here in two separate incidents on Tuesday.
In the first incident, a man, Ameer Hassan, killed his wife outside his residence in Bakandi village on Tuesday. The accused claimed that his wife, Shamim Akhter, was trying to flee from her residence which is why he opened fire on her.
The accused surrendered before the police and claimed that his wife had earlier also fled from her residence and that she had to be brought back from Rawalpindi not long ago. Shamim was Ameer’s second wife.
In the second incident, a man, Rehmat Zaib, allegedly opened fire on his wife, Zeenat, while she was offering prayers in Khadgezai village on Tuesday. After killing her, the accused also killed his brother, Bahadur Zaib, on the pretext that his wife and his brother had illicit relations. He then escaped.
Bahadur was a married man with four children. An FIR has been registered at the Ochh police station.
ARRESTED: Officials of the Samarbagh police arrested a student of the Peshawar University and a woman on Tuesday.
The police claimed that the accused, Raheemdad, and the girl were roaming in the mountains in Samarbagh. They alleged that they had left their residences and intended to enter into wedlock.
