SUKKUR: Two women were killed on the pretext of karo-kari in Pir Bari village in the Khanpur Mahar area of Ghotki district on Thursday and Wednesday.

Lal Din Bozdar shot his wife Naziran dead and buried her without performing her last rituals on Thursday.

According to informed sources, Naziran was declared kari by her husband one month ago. Later, a jirga was held which, after endorsing Lal Din’s allegation, declared that Naziran should be killed.

Another woman, Gul Bano, daughter of Jumo Malik, was declared kari and shot dead by her cousin Muhkumuddin Malik on Wednesday. Police have filed the murder case of Gul Bano.
