KARACHI: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two more suspects involved in a gang rape case of a first-year student in Gulshan-i-Hadeed. The victim, in an unconscious condition, was left in a locality of the Defence Housing Authority.

Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur confirmed that two more suspects had been arrested bringing the total number to four suspects taken in custody so far. He said two of the suspects were residents of the same locality in Gulshan-i-Hadeed while a third one hailed from Lahore.

He said the DNA samples of all the suspects had been taken. The suspects were being interrogated while investigators were also trying to obtain CCTV camera footages.

The girl was kidnapped when she left her home in Gulshan-i-Hadeed on Friday for her college.

She was subjected to criminal assault and later on thrown in a DHA locality where she was recovered by the area police.
