Two girl schools bombed in Mohmand
GHALLANAI: The militants bombed two girls’ schools in Safi tehsil of Mohmand Agency, official and tribal sources said on Saturday.
The sources said explosives planted in the buildings of the two government girls’ primary schools in Abdullah Kor and Haji Guldar Kor in the Qandaharo area were triggered to cause the explosions on Friday night.
The structures of both the institutions sustained partial damage, the sources said.
A woman stated to be the wife of one Abdullah at a house adjacent to one of the schools sustained critical injuries in the explosion. Two cows were also killed in the explosion.
The injured woman was transported to a hospital in Peshawar due to her precarious condition.
Spokesman for the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Ihsanullah Ihsan claimed responsibility for bombing the two schools.
Meanwhile, the political administration arrested 10 persons under the collective responsibility section of the Frontier Crimes Regulation in connection with the bombing of the schools.
Our correspondent in Mingora adds: A woman was killed on Saturday over alleged illicit relationship in Kabal tehsil of Swat district, police sources said.
The sources said the mother-in-law of Shireen Gul, with the help of her daughter and son, hanged Shireen Gul to death in Ashari area in Kabal tehsil.
The police have arrested the two accused, Khadija Amin and her daughter Markhanai, while search was on to arrest Muslim, the brother-in-law of the slain woman.
Our correspondent in Kalaya adds: Unidentified militants kidnapped two persons belonging to the Sturikhel tribe in lower Orakzai Agency on Saturday, official sources said.
The sources said that Khatir Gul and Khan Maluk were kidnapped from Sturikhel at gunpoint and shifted to an unknown location. The reason behind the kidnapping could not be ascertained.
When contacted, the security forces in lower Orakzai Agency confirmed the incident.
