Top priority attached to women healthcare

LAHORE – Provision of healthcare facilities was at the top priority of the Punjab Chief Minister’s agenda and he was paying special attention regarding healthcare facilities and the rights of women.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Tahir Ali Javed expressed these views while addressing a meeting regarding women and child health here on Saturday which was attended by the officers of health department and representatives of donor agencies, disclosed an official.

The Minister said “Centers of excellence would be set up at the small cities public sector hospitals where doctors and other staff would be provided latest training and know-how in the relevant medical disciplines.

The doctors, mid-wives and other Para-medical staff have been directed to launch a combined awareness campaign among masses especially the womenfolk about viral infections and fatal diseases like Hepatitis B and C, as the women were more prone to these eepidemic disorders,” he added.
