Teenage girl found dead at home

SAHIWAL: A 15-year-old girl was mysteriously found dead in the courtyard of her house at
Chak 95/12-L on Sunday.
According to Shah Kot police, Amina, the daughter of Nazir Ahmed, was alone at home when
some unidentified person strangled her.
Nazir Ahmed, a farmer, had gone to a neighbouring village while his wife, Ruqaiya, and son,
Usman, went to the field to cut fodder. When they came back home, they found Amina lying
dead.
Police sent the body for autopsy and collected evidence from the crime scene.
Shah Kot SHO Shahzad told Dawn police registered a murder case against unidentified persons
on Nazir’s complaint.
POWER THEFT: Around 1,824 power theft cases were registered and 1,358 defaulters were
arrested in the Sahiwal division during the last one month.
Sources said 1,881 theft cases had been reported till Oct 7. According to a report, 295, 1,221 and
308 cases were registered and 225, 892, and 241 defaulters were arrested in districts of Sahiwal,
Okara and Pakpattan, respectively.

Sources said Rs46.7m have been recovered in three districts of Sahiwal division, constituting 32
percent of the total default amount.
Malik Arif, the EXEN of Mepco in the Sahiwal region, said cases had been registered against the
defaulters with the respective police stations.
