SOPs for Darul Amans in Sindh formed
KARACHI: The Standard Operating Procedures for improved functioning and management of Darul Amans have finally been developed in the province. According to a press release issued by a non-governmental organization, Shirkat Gah, the SOPs provide structure, management and rules of business set within a framework of human rights and dignity of women survivors of violence.
It became possible after a series of consultations and meetings for the last three years to include input from civil society organizations, Social Welfare Department, Darul Aman staff and from the minister concerned to ensure relevance and effectiveness. The objective of SOPs is to facilitate of violence in a manner that ensures their fundamental human rights and guarantees their participation in all decision making related to them.
