SINDH governMent APPROVES rs 9 Million woMen coMplaint cells

KARACHI, February 17 2005: The SINDH governMent has approved WoMen CoMplaint Cells for aid to woMen in distress project worth rs 9 Million. These cells would be established in four districts, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Larkana in the first phase, while in the second phase, the network of these cells would be expanded to all the districts of the province. The aiM at establishing the coMplaint cells is to provide legal, Medical, and other necessary aids to woMen in case of any trouble.

SINDH WoMen DevelopMent DepartMent Director Farzana SaliM told Business Recorder on Wednesday that a legal advisor and a social worker would be available at the Cell to provide all assistance to woMen in agony.

The Cell would also keep close liaison with the police and the hospital.She said the SINDH governMent has taken this initiative to provide legal and Medical assistance to woMen, who are victiMs to any kind of abuse.
