Shuhada-e-Lal Masjid conference for women today

ISLAMABAD: The Shuhada-e-Lal Masjid Conference for Women will be held at the site of the demolished Jamia Hafsa on Wednesday (today) in connection with the first anniversary of Lal Masjid operation.

The conference is being organized by Lal Masjid administration. Former students of Jamia Hafsa and women from different walks of life will attend the event, the organizers said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Rana Akbar Hayat, SP Kamran Adil and other senior officials visited the venue of the conference to review the security arrangements.

The Islamabad administration has made foolproof security arrangements for the conference, Rana Akbar Hayat told reporters. He said he met the administration of Lal Masjid and assured them about provision of facilities including potable water.

The Islamabad Traffic Police have devised a traffic plan to facilitate the residents during the conference.
