KARACHI: What started as a petty fight over a girl at a private dance party, ended up claiming the life of the personal security guard of well-known neurologist Dr Hashim’s son in the limits of Darakshan police station.

As per details, 35-year-old Sher Mohammad, son of Abdul Qadir, hailing from Dera Bugti, Balochistan, was shot dead in a flat at Saba Commercial late on Saturday night and his body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

SHO Raja Tariq while explaining the incident said, “The deceased was one of the private gunmen of Dr Hashim’s young son, namely Basit, who is an MBBS student and had arranged a private dance party at his flat located at Sea View apartments, Phase VI, Defence, on Saturday night.

“One of Basit’s friends, Nasir, took one of the girls named Rimla away from the party to his flat at Saba Commercial during the dance party which aggravated Basit and his friends, including Rao Junaid, Owais and others,” said the SHO. “They went to Nasir’s flat, where Junaid opened fire at them with his TT pistol, resulting in the death of Basit’s gunman.”

Talking about the girl who was the cause of the quarrel, the officer said Rimla is a MBA student and resides in Defence as a paying guest as her family is in USA. “Coming from well off backgrounds, these youngsters organise private parties, where drugs and booze are very common, increasing the chances of these incidents,” the officer said.

He said that Junaid also belongs to a rich family and runs a showroom. “According to the law, everyone of them, including Basit, should be booked in the FIR and arrested but as the deceased’s brother nominated only Junaid in the FIR, the police have arrested him,” said the officer.
