Schools blown up in Kohat, Nowshera
NOWSHERA/KOHAT: Unidentified militants blew up two girls schools in Nowshera and Kohat on Saturday. Police said that militants blew up a primary school at Mughlki area of Akora Khattak in Nowshera on Saturday evening.
They said that substantial damage had been done to the building after the hand-made bomb exploded. The school building was reconstructed with the help of Japan after 2010 floods. The bomb disposal squad said that four kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.
In Kohat, police said militants planted five kilograms of improvised explosive device to the building of the government primary school for girls in Teerawal Banda locality of Kamal Khel area in the wee hours on Saturday.
The police said explosive device exploded with a big bang, destroying the building completely. No one was hurt in the blast. The police and bomb disposal squad reached the area soon after the incident and launched a search operation. The Bilitang police station registered the case against unidentified miscreants.
